Tips to keep your boxspring bed fresh & clean
We know that keeping your bed in top shape isn't always at the top of your to-do list, but a little regular care can make a big difference. With just a few simple habits, you can create a cleaner, healthier sleeping space and help your Fey boxspring bed stay comfortable and supportive for years to come.
The right cleaning routine can help you maintain a hygienic sleeping environment and extend the lifespan of your boxspring bed. From routine upkeep to deep cleaning, these simple tips will help you maintain freshness, durability, and ultimate comfort.
Routine cleaning & maintenance
- Vacuuming.Regularly remove dust, crumbs, and other particles using a vacuum
cleaner with a soft brush attachment on the lowest setting. Avoid sharp tools that
could damage the fabric. - Fitted sheet. To maintain hygiene, change your fitted sheet weekly (or at least
every two weeks). Wash it at 60°C (it’s dryer-safe). Always check the label for
specific washing instructions. When ordering your Fey bed, you can opt for a
premium fitted sheet that perfectly matches your configuration. Moreover, clean
your sheets, pillowcases and blankets every 1–2 weeks. Not only does it feel
fresher, but it also minimizes the buildup of sweat, oils, and allergens.
Washing the topper cover
- The removable top cover of your topper is machine washable at 40°C (not dryer-safe).
The same applies to the royal mattress with an integrated topper, its cover can also be
removed and washed at 40°C. However, note that the rubberized underside of the series5 topper is not washable. - To maintain cleanliness, wash your topper cover as needed or at least twice a year. For
extra freshness, air it out regularly by placing it in a well-ventilated area.
Removing stains effectively
Accidents happen, but acting quickly can make all the difference and save your bed from long-term damage.
- Coffee or tea. Blot the stain immediately with a clean cloth. Mix a small amount
of mild dish soap with lukewarm water, dab gently with a sponge, and blot dry. Avoid scrubbing, as it can spread the stain. - Sweat stains or yellowing. Mix equal parts white vinegar and water in a spray
bottle, lightly mist the stained area, and blot with a cloth. Repeat if needed, then
let the material dry fully. - Makeup (foundation, lipstick, etc.). Use a small amount of gentle dish soap or
fabric-safe upholstery cleaner on a soft cloth, blot carefully, and rinse by dabbing
with a damp cloth. - Greasy or acidic stains. Lightly press a clean cloth soaked in lukewarm distilled
water onto the stain without rubbing. Work over a larger area or follow the seams.
Avoid using microfiber cloths. Always work across a larger area or from seam to
seam. Avoid microfiber cloths. - Protein-based stains (e.g., blood, milk). Use cold water instead of warm.
- Persistent stains. A mild textile detergent may be used if necessary.
Rotating & flipping
Your mattress and topper are designed to support you for years, but to ensure even wear, regular rotation is key:
- Mattress. Turn it twice a year (switch top and bottom) but avoid flipping it head-
to-foot after it has adjusted to your body. Fey mattresses are designed symmetrically at first, but due to their 7-zone support system, they should not be flipped once settled. - Topper. Rotate every few weeks. If using a cold foam topper, flip it as well. Tip: A
great time to rotate is when changing your sheets!
